Los rayos tienen tal intensidad pueden verse a m\u00e1s de 400 kil\u00f3metros.<\/p>\n<p>Desde hace siglos, un extra\u00f1o y \u00fanico espect\u00e1culo en el mundo viene produci\u00e9ndose en la desembocadura del r\u00edo Catatumbo con el lago Maracaibo (en el Estado venezolano de Zulia). Se llama el Rel\u00e1mpago de Catatumbo. Esta maravilla celestial es la m\u00e1s grandiosa e interminable sinfon\u00eda de rayos y luz que la naturaleza nos puede ofrecer, puesto que las tormentas el\u00e9ctricas que se forman arden con nada menos que entre 30 y 60 rayos por minuto (casi uno por segundo), unos 3.000 por hora, y pueden llegar a <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-14635 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Relampago-datatumbo-un-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Relampago-datatumbo-un\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Relampago-datatumbo-un-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Relampago-datatumbo-un.jpg 635w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>alcanzar la friolera de unos 1,5 millones de rayos al a\u00f1o. No es de extra\u00f1ar que posea el r\u00e9cord Guinness a la mayor concentraci\u00f3n de rayos del planeta. Brutal.<\/p>\n<p>Este fen\u00f3meno se produce unas 160 noches al a\u00f1o (entre abril y noviembre) y es un ciclo de tormentas el\u00e9ctricas que duran unas 10 horas. Los rayos tienen tal intensidad (entre 100.000 a 400.000 amperios) que pueden verse a m\u00e1s de 400 kil\u00f3metros, de ah\u00ed que tambi\u00e9n se le denomine el Faro de Maracaibo.<\/p>\n<p>La explicaci\u00f3n de esta belleza natural reside en las elevadas cordilleras andinas que rodean al lago y la entrada de vientos alisios c\u00e1lidos al mismo por la \u00fanica abertura natural que hay hacia el mar Caribe. A \u00faltima hora de la tarde, cuando el lago est\u00e1 m\u00e1s caliente, se produce mucha evaporaci\u00f3n. Los vientos que llegan se cargan de humedad y se dirigen hacia las paredes de la serran\u00eda del Perij\u00e1 y cordillera de M\u00e9rida, con altitudes de hasta 5.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Cuando los vientos chocan contra ellas, ascienden\u2026 se enfr\u00edan, condensan y se forman esas tormentas con una monstruosa carga el\u00e9ctrica.
