En el a\u00f1o 1592 hab\u00eda entrado al servicio de los Gonzaga de Mantua, con quienes forj\u00f3 una amistad profunda, aunque llena de altibajos.<\/p>\n<p>El argumento de <em>Orfeo <\/em>se basa en gran medida en la leyenda de este personaje, que Ovidio describiera en sus<em> Metamorfosis. <\/em>La obra se estren\u00f3 en la corte de los Gonzaga durante el carnaval, que se asociaba tradicionalmente con espect\u00e1culos m\u00fasicos-teatrales. Eso pasaba unos a\u00f1os antes de que Florencia, con el pretexto de restaurar las tragedias grecorromanas, produjese por primera vez dramas musicales, que m\u00e1s tarde se llamar\u00edan &lt;&lt;\u00f3peras&gt;&gt;.<\/p>\n<p>Las obras florentinas tempranas inclu\u00edan dos versiones de la misma historia de Orfeo, las dos tituladas <em>Eur\u00eddice, <\/em>escritas por Peri y Caccini, respectivamente; ambas sirvieron como p\u00e1lidos modelos de la obra maestra de Monteverdi. Aunque apenas se conocen los detalles del estreno, seguro que <em>Orfeo<\/em> fue un gran \u00e9xito. Por ejemplo, Anthony Rolfe Johnson es un Orfeo maravilloso; aborda con gran esplendor el aria tremendamente exigente &lt;&lt;Possente spirto&gt;&gt;, y Anne Sofie von Otter, en el papel de Mensajero, transmite a Orfeo y al p\u00fablico la muerte de Eur\u00eddice con una gran emotividad.<\/p>\n<p>Seryhumano.com \/ N.
