Sus admiradores (algunos contempor\u00e1neos, como Beethoven y Schubert, y otros posteriores, como Wagner y Brahms) ponen en duda dicha calificaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00e9cnicamente era un maestro. Nacido en Florencia, fue una figura clave en la m\u00fasica parisina desde 1789 hasta el final de su larga vida.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de 1795 fue primero inspector y despu\u00e9s director del Conservatorio de Par\u00eds, donde los alumnos lo veneraban. Berlioz elogi\u00f3 su <i>R\u00e9quiem en do menor<\/i> por su &lt;&lt;constante estilo sublime&gt;&gt;.<\/p>\n<p>El estilo de Cherubini como compositor, asociado al neoclasicismo del cambio de siglo, se ha descrito como severo, seco, e incluso fr\u00edo. Pero <i>Medea<\/i>, una aterradora tragedia tr\u00e1gica, no deja indiferente a nadie.
