Naci\u00f3 en Slobodishe (Oryol guberniya) en el medio de habla rusa y se form\u00f3 para ser cirujana en la Universidad de Lausana, en la cl\u00ednica del profesor C\u00e9sar Roux . La enfermedad de sus padres y la muerte de su hermana obligaron a Gedroitz a regresar a Rusia en 1900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su trabajo en laparotom\u00edas durante la Guerra Ruso-Japonesa fue uno de los primeros en lograr una alta tasa de \u00e9xito. Esto llev\u00f3 al ej\u00e9rcito ruso a adoptar el procedimiento y provoc\u00f3 que cambiaran las nociones del tratamiento correcto de las heridas abdominales penetrantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1909, Gedroitz fue trasladada al hospital de la corte en Tsarskoye Selo, donde trabaj\u00f3 como cirujana para la familia imperial. En ese momento se uni\u00f3 al Gremio de Poetas, publicando sus poemas bajo el seud\u00f3nimo de Sergei Gedroitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de la Revoluci\u00f3n de febrero, no huy\u00f3 del Ts\u00e1rskoye Selo como lo hicieron muchos de sus parientes. Ella fue a trabajar en la Primera Guerra Mundial al frente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gedroitz trabaj\u00f3 activamente y escribi\u00f3 trabajos cient\u00edficos sobre oncolog\u00eda, cirug\u00eda pedi\u00e1trica y endocrinolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1921 comenz\u00f3 a ense\u00f1ar en el instituto m\u00e9dico de Kiev.
