Las tres versiones sucesivas que existen (la original de 1805, la primera revisi\u00f3n de 1806 y la forma final de 1814) demuestran su gran lucha con el medio.<\/p>\n<p><i>Fidelio<\/i> es, adem\u00e1s, la materializaci\u00f3n definitiva de la moda europea de la \u201c\u00f3pera de rescate\u201d, que creci\u00f3 tras la Revoluci\u00f3n francesa. Un suceso ocurrido bajo el Terror inspir\u00f3 el argumento de <i>Leonor o el amor conyugal<\/i> (1798), la \u00f3pera c\u00f3mica de Gaveau, y el libreto de esta obra, escrito por Bouilly, sirvi\u00f3 de modelo para el texto de la obra de Beethoven. Como el <i>Fidelio<\/i> original parec\u00eda demasiado largo y musicalmente inmanejable, el texto se revis\u00f3 en 1806 y despu\u00e9s en 1814, cuando por fin Beethoven encontr\u00f3 un equilibrio practicable entre argumento, di\u00e1logos e invenci\u00f3n musical. En todas las versiones es palpable la influencia de la \u00f3pera favorita de Beethoven, <i>La flauta m\u00e1gica<\/i>, y tambi\u00e9n la de Cherubini, a quien reverenciaba por infundir nueva energ\u00eda dram\u00e1tica a las formas cl\u00e1sicas.<a href=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/?attachment_id=4280\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4280\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4280\" alt=\"Fidelio 1\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Fidelio-1.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>En las cr\u00edticas a <i>Fidelio<\/i> dominan dos puntos de vista. El primero elogia la grandeza lograda a pesar de la limitada gama dram\u00e1tica y la caracterizaci\u00f3n bidimensional; el segundo insiste en que con una m\u00fasica de constante expansi\u00f3n espiritual, Beethoven trascendi\u00f3 todas las convenciones oper\u00edsticas para crear una obra maestra teatral <i>sui generis<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>La sobresaliente grabaci\u00f3n de Klemperer, consecuencia de su aclamada producci\u00f3n en el Covent Garden, es una completa reivindicaci\u00f3n del segundo punto de vista.
