A diferencia del hombre, los animales se encuentran presos en su instinto y no pueden determinar su destino como lo hacen los hombres: con su raz\u00f3n. El hombre tiene la libertad que le ha sido dada por Dios, y con ella puede sobajarse o enaltecerse, degenerar en los seres inferiores que son las bestias, o regenerarse en las realidades superiores que son divinas. Eso es su responsabilidad.<a href=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/el-hombre-es-libre.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-657\" title=\"el hombre es libre\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/el-hombre-es-libre.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"143\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Kant \u201c\u2026el hombre, y en general todo ser racional, existe como fin y no simplemente como medio arbitrario de tal o cual voluntad\u2026\u201d. El hombre\u201c\u2026en todas sus acciones, ora se refieran a s\u00ed mismo, ora a los dem\u00e1s seres racionales, debe ser considerado siempre como fin.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-658\" title=\"dignidad 3\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-3-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>\u201cLos seres cuya existencia no depende de nuestra voluntad, sino de la naturaleza, si no son racionales, tampoco tienen m\u00e1s que el valor relativo de medios, y por esto se les llama cosas; en tanto que, por el contrario, se da el nombre de personas a los seres racionales, porque su naturaleza misma crea en s\u00ed sus fines, esto es, algo que no debe emplearse como medio, y que, por consiguiente, restringe un tanto la libertad de cada uno (y es para ella un objeto de respeto).\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Es conforme a este principio que Kant establece otro por el cual sostiene que la voluntad en todo ser racional obra como legisladora universal. A este principio lo denomina: autonom\u00eda de la voluntad. Seg\u00fan \u00e9l, la voluntad se somete a una ley en tanto sea ella misma su autora, y esa ley se plantee como una ley universal por ser racional, no por otro motivo m\u00e1s; ni los intereses ni los fines que se satisfagan con esa conducta importan, pues la autonom\u00eda es \u201c\u2026la propiedad que tiene esta facultad [la voluntad] de tener en s\u00ed misma su ley (independientemente de la naturaleza de los objetos del querer).\u00bb.<a href=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-659\" title=\"dignidad 2\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-2-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cuando la persona se somete a una ley que no proviene de la propia voluntad, existe un atractivo o una coacci\u00f3n exterior, es decir, un inter\u00e9s ajeno que le inclina a ejecutar esa ley, puesto que al no derivar de su voluntad, la persona necesitar\u00eda de alguna otra cosa para verse obligada a actuar de cierto modo. Entonces, cuando una persona se somete a una ley ajena se convierte en medio para un fin que no le es propio: el inter\u00e9s de un tercero que le inclina a obrar del modo que prescribe la ley. De este modo, si una persona no es aut\u00f3noma se cosifica, se reduce a objeto y pierde su calidad de persona.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-41.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-661\" title=\"dignidad 4\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-41-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-41-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/dignidad-41-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Es por eso, que Kant sostiene que la dignidad de la humanidad deriva de la autonom\u00eda de la voluntad. La naturaleza racional, independiente de todo fin por alcanzar o ventaja por obtener es lo que le da sublimidad a la especie humana. En palabras de Kant: \u201c\u2026la dignidad de la humanidad precisamente consiste en esa propiedad que tiene de dictar leyes universales pero con la condici\u00f3n de someterse a ellas por s\u00ed misma.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La dignidad humana coloca a las personas por encima de todo el resto de seres vivos.
