El estudio, publicado en\u00a0Letters on Evolutionary Behavioural Science\u00a0en 2012, intentaba dar soporte a la idea planteada por G. F. Miller (2000) de que existe la posibilidad de que la musicalidad del <i>ser humano<\/i> sea resultado de la selecci\u00f3n natural a trav\u00e9s de la selecci\u00f3n sexual. Seg\u00fan los autores, la habilidad musical podr\u00eda ser un \u00edndice de buenas capacidades de aprendizaje\u00a0o de motricidad fina, o incluso un signo de poder adquisitivo ya que adquirir un instrumento musical y aprender a tocarlo suele tener cierto coste econ\u00f3mico.<\/p>\n<p>En el experimento, se crearon dos perfiles id\u00e9nticos de Facebook en los que aparec\u00eda el mismo hombre joven sonriente.\u00a0La \u00fanica diferencia entre ellos era que en un caso el joven aparec\u00eda en la foto con una guitarra en la foto mientras que en la otra no. Seleccionaron los perfiles de Facebook de 100 mujeres solteras pertenecientes a grupos de estudiantes. A la mitad de ellas se les envi\u00f3 un mensaje desde el perfil del joven con la guitarra y a la otra mitad desde el perfil del chico sin el instrumento. El mensaje, siempre el mismo, dec\u00eda algo semejante a\u00a0 \u2018Hola, \u00bfqu\u00e9 tal?\u00a0 Me gusta tu foto\u2019.<a href=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/?attachment_id=8083\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8083\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8083\" alt=\"96863_girl-practicing-guitar-236x300\" src=\"https:\/\/seryhumano.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/96863_girl-practicing-guitar-236x300.jpg\" width=\"236\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Los resultados mostraron que\u00a0un 28% de las mujeres aceptaron la solicitud de amistad realizada por el chico que aparec\u00eda con la guitarra, frente a un 10% que acept\u00f3 al joven sin la guitarra.
