Nelly vio L por \u00faltima vez siendo todav\u00eda una ni\u00f1a, en el punto \u00e1lgido de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, mientras hu\u00eda del avance ruso. La visita act\u00faa como catalizador de unos recuerdos dolorosos: im\u00e1genes que hab\u00eda reprimido afloran de nuevo mientras rememora una infancia bajo el r\u00e9gimen nazi desde el prisma de una ciudadana adulta de la Alemania Oriental.<\/p>\n<p>La chocante conclusi\u00f3n a la que llega Nelly es que el fascismo de la existencia cotidiana de su familia y sus conocidos de entonces no dista tanto de la cobard\u00eda y la hipocres\u00eda de la RDA socialista del per\u00edodo en que escribe. Un pa\u00eds de nazis no puede convertirse de la noche a la ma\u00f1ana en una naci\u00f3n de h\u00e9roes socialistas. El cambio, de llegar a producirse, ser\u00e1 escalonado. <i>Muestra de infancia<\/i> destaca porque reconoce la necesidad de mirar al pasado de Alemania con total honestidad pese al desasosiego que pueda implicar.
