Muchas hip\u00f3tesis aparecieron para explicar el \u00abmilagro de la estrella de Bel\u00e9n\u00bb, trat\u00e1ndolo como un fen\u00f3meno astron\u00f3mico real.<\/p>\n<p>Unas hip\u00f3tesis apuntan al brillante planeta Venus, pero este planeta ya era conocido en aquellos tiempos, dif\u00edcilmente pudo ser tomado como algo extraordinario. Otros se\u00f1alan el paso de un cometa, concretamente del Halley, pero \u00e9ste ya hab\u00eda transitado por nuestro sistema solar el a\u00f1o 11 a.C., bastante antes del nacimiento de Cristo.<\/p>\n<p>Los hay tambi\u00e9n que atribuyen la \u00abestrella\u00bb a una supernova (explosi\u00f3n de un sol cuya brillante luz puede verse durante meses, incluso de d\u00eda), pero no hay registros hist\u00f3ricos de esa \u00e9poca al respecto pese a que si lo hay de novas observadas en el 135 a. C. y el 173 d. C. En esta conjunci\u00f3n los planetas se ven como uno solo, los que los hace una luz muy brillante.<\/p>\n<p>Los c\u00e1lculos de Kepler determinaron que la conjunci\u00f3n se dio en el a\u00f1o 7 a. C., lo que resulta compatible con las fechas asignadas al nacimiento de Jes\u00fas esbozadas m\u00e1s arriba. Un evento como este se dio en 1940-41 y no se volver\u00e1 a dar hasta el 2198.<\/p>\n<p>Kepler conoc\u00eda los comentarios que sobre el profeta Daniel que hab\u00eda escrito en 1497 Arbabanel, un sabio jud\u00edo. Seg\u00fan Arbabanel la conjunci\u00f3n de Saturno y J\u00fapiter en la constelaci\u00f3n de Pisis hab\u00eda tenido lugar cuando el nacimiento de Mois\u00e9s, y tendr\u00eda lugar otra vez cuando naciera el Mes\u00edas. La explicaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s simple consiste naturalmente en creer que Dios cre\u00f3 una estrella que guiase a los Reyes Magos y una vez cumplida su misi\u00f3n desapareciera tan r\u00e1pida y misteriosamente como hab\u00eda sido creada.
